RAM TRX: The Beast on Four Wheels
Alright, let's start by giving a shoutout to the RAM TRX – a pickup truck that's basically a superhero with a V8 engine. We're talking speed, power, and a design that's like the automotive equivalent of a lion's roar. But here's the deal – even superheroes need protection, and that's where matte PPF comes into play.
Preparing the TRX
One of the benefits of Paint Protection Film is that it hides minor scratches and swirls. But, the entire trucks surface must be decontaminated and detailed thoroughly in order to guarantee a perfect install of the film.
We touched every inch of the TRX to ensure we got every crack, crevice, painted surface and plastic cleaned.
After the wash bay is finished we roll the vehicle into our PPF room where we do a final prep of wiping the surface down with isopropyl to guarantee the truck is ready for the film installation.
Plotting the film
Plotting Paint Protection Film (PPF) with a plotter is a precision process to create custom-cut templates for specific vehicle models.
Before anything else, precise measurements of the vehicle's panels are taken. This step is crucial to ensure that the PPF will fit seamlessly and cover the entire surface area needing protection.
With everything set up, the plotter begins the precision cutting process. It moves along the X and Y axis, following the digital template with incredible accuracy. The cutting blade moves through the PPF material, creating custom shapes that match the dimensions of the vehicle's panels.
